Igor Ponomarev appointed Acting Director General of Yantar Shipyard (photo)
Igor Ponomarev has been appointed Acting Director General of Yantar Shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) from June 1, 2015. According to the shipyard’s press center, this decision has been made by the Board of Directors.
Igor Ponomarev will hold this position concurrently with his principal position at the United Shipbuilding Corporation as a Vice-President on Naval Construction.
Oleg Shumakov, former Acting Director General of Yantar has been promoted to the position of Deputy Director for Production.
Igor Ponomarev was born on October 30, 1954. Graduated from the Leningrad Higher Naval Engineering School, Naval Academy named after А. А. Grechkoo and Moscow Institute of International Business. Served in the Pacific Fleet of Russia and in main technical directorate of RF Navy. Used to head Rosoboronexport’s Navy Department and held the position of Director General at Sudexport OJSC. From 2011 – head of the USC Department for Military and Technical Cooperation. From May 2013 - Vice-President on Naval Construction at USC.
