FAS initiates case against Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot and Rosnefteflot
Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has initiated a case against the Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) and Rosnefteflot CJSC concerning a violation of anti-monopoly legislation, Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers told IAA PortNews.
On March 31, 2015, self-regulatory organization Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers addressed the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) to draw attention to the pricing policy of the Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) and Rosnefteflot CJSC applied at the ports of Russia’s Far East.
The two organizations hiked the prices for services on oil spill response alert from January 1, 2015, by RUB 119.00 and RUB 115.00 accordingly (VAT included).
On June 2, 2015, FAS ordered to initiate proceedings and to establish a commission for investigation of a case concerning a violation of anti-monopoly legislation under Part 12 of Article 44 of the Federal Law dated 26.07.2006 135-FL “On Protection of Competition”.
According to the official response of FAS received by Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker on June 18, the hearing on the case has been scheduled for July 14, 2015.
