Hapag-Lloyd informs about incident of engine damage on HS Colon (MPS Service), the company said in its press release.
The Hamburg Süd vessel HS Colon, operating in the MPS service, suffered severe engine damages during maintenance works in the Port of Los Angeles.
The vessel has now been shifted to the nearest lay-by berth. The full extent of the damage is currently being investigated while the initial duration for the repairs is estimated to take a minimum of ten days.
Hapag-Lloyd and Hamburg Süd are currently jointly working on contingency measures. The power supply of all reefer containers is safeguarded.
