Over 20 ships of different types and purposes are being built for RF Navy under supervision of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), Georgy Bedrik, Head of RS Business Development Department, told IAA PortNews at the Seventh International Maritime Defence Show in Saint-Petersburg.
The majority of those vessels can operate in ice conditions, Georgy Bedrik explained.
In particular, RS is surveying the construction of tankers, combat logistics ships, multi-purpose vessels for comprehensive port servicing, self-propelled floating cranes etc.
Established in 1913, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is one of the leading classification societies. RS represents its services at the Seventh International Maritime Defence Show being held from the 1st through the 5th of July 2015 in St. Petersburg (Lenexpo Exhibition Complex).
