On 28 July 2015, the steel cutting ceremony for the third ship of the project 42K Arctic Shuttle Tanker was held at the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries, says Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. A series of six oil tankers has been ordered by PAO Sovcomflot for oil transportation from Novoportovskoye field. The ships are constructed to dual class, RS acting as the leading society.

Steel cutting and keel laying for all the six ships of the above series will take place in 2015. Completion of construction of the first ship, for which the steel cutting ceremony was held on 1 April 2015, is scheduled for June 2016.
