Murmansk Commercial Seaport plans increasing its throughput to 23.25 mln t by 2018

Murmansk Commercial Seaport PJSC plans increasing its throughput to 23.25 mln t by 2018, up 18% against 2014, IAA PortNews journalist cites the company’s Director General Aleksandr Masko, as saying yesterday at the BoD meeting of Association of Commercial Sea Ports. 

He also forecasted a slight decline from 19.69 mln t in 2014 to 19.21 mln t in 2015. 

As of today coal accounts for 65.81% of the company’s throughput,  iron-ore concentrate – 14.26%, apatite concentrate – 7.75%, mineral fertilizers – 5.65%, manganese ore – 1.06%. 

The company’s major customers are SUEK AG (56.22% of throughput), EuroChem (17.04%), PhosAgro (10.62%), Coeclerici Compagnie S.A. (9.59%), SHPZ Trade LLC (1.06%), etc. 

Murmansk Commercial Seaport expects to increase the turnover through implementation of some investment projects. Annual transshipment of apatite concentrate is to be increased to 3 mln t. 

There is a number of projects on reconstruction of berths.

Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC was established in 1994. The port has 17 berths with total length of some 3,000 meters. The length and depth enables the port to handle vessels of up to 15.5 meters in draught and over 265 meters in length.
