Russian Deputy Defence Minister has visited one of the biggest enterprises of the Military Industrial Complex – the Amur Shipbuilding Plant, press center of RF Defence Ministry says.
He inspected the facilities and workshops of the plant where corvettes (project 20380) and Varshavyanka diesel submarines (project 636) are being built.
The representatives of the plant mentioned that the enterprise is going to produce plastic ship sections. That will give the opportunity to build minesweepers for the Far East Region.
Yuri Borisov said that the Amur Shipbuilding Plant is now the local economic mainstay and a strategic facility in the region.
“In the future we are considering this enterprise to build diesel submarines for the Pacific Fleet,” he resumed.
