The newest oceanic rescue ship of the Russian Navy Igor Belousov has successfully launched a remote control unmanned underwater vehicle to the depth of 1,000.05 metres within the 4th stage of the sea trials held in the Atlantic Ocean, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The Pantera Plus is a multirole platform using a wide range of mounted equipment such as cable cutters, circular saws, washout devices, etc. It can also automatically maintain the assigned depth and has a hydroacoustic positioning system, cameras with advanced low-light capabilities. Thanks to powerful engines, it is highly maneuverable and effective.
After the 4th stage of trials in the Atlantic Ocean, the Igor Belousov rescue ship will undergo state testing and then will make part of the Russian Navy by the end of 2015.
