In January-August 2015, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port handled 1,900,300 t of cargo (-9.5%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.
In the reported period, transshipment of ferrous metal climbed by 2.8% to 726,000 t, coal and coke – down 24.1% to 151,500 t, oil products – down 91.6% to 4,800 t, scrap metal – down 3.1% to 82,600 t.
The port’s container throughput fell by 59.4% to 18,000 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2014, the port’s throughput totaled 3.357 mln t.
