CLdN RoRo places orders for twelve new vessels

European Short Sea RoRo specialist CLdN RoRo SA has announced the target to add twelve new vessels to its existing fleet. It currently consists of 24 RoRo vessels and offers more than 100 sailings per week between various international ports, including from and to the Port of Rotterdam, the company said in its press release.

Amongst others, orders have been placed for two vessels, with a length of 235 meters and capacity of 8000 lane meter. The benefits of such vessel expansion include a more flexible and higher stowage factor, an ‘LNG ready’ class notation and an expected generated additional 70% capacity over the next four years.

The nature of this expansion programme will allow CLdN to broaden the range of services and will simultaneously enable a significant accumulation of capacity on existing routes. In addition to progress made in the main section of integrated solutions, the Port Division C.Ro will also invest an estimated 100 million euros on the expansion of its terminals equipped for the arrival of next generation vessels. The very first of these new vessels are due for service in the third quarter of 2017.
