In January-August 2015, Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk (Ukraine) handled 11,740,000 t of cargo (+9.6%, year-on-year), the port’s authority says.
In the reported period, the port handled 1,247,000 t of liquid bulk cargo (+3.2%, year-on-year), 8,393,000 t of dry bulk cargo (+52.3%), 2,100,000 t of general cargo (52.6% of 8M’14 results).
In August 2015, all operators of the port (excluding Fishing Port of Illichivsk LLC) handled 1,634,000 t of cargo (+5.4%, year-on-year). State port operator SE Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk handled 1,080,000 t (66% of the port’s total volume), up 27.4%, year-on-year. Private port operators handled 554,000 t of cargo (34% of total volume) including 252,000 t handled at the terminals of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (15.4% of total volume).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 1,105,000 t (+20.3%, year-on-year), import – 193,000 t (86.4% of 8M’14 results), transit – 96,000 t (23.5% of 8M’14 results), coastal trade cargo – 240,000 t (up 100% against 8M’14 results).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 132,000 t (82% of 8M’14 results), dry bulk cargo - 1,309,000 t (+64.5%, year-on-year), general cargo – 193,000 t (32.5% of 8M’14 results).
Ore transshipment showed the highest growth – up over 7-fold to 595,000 t, grain – up 29.1% to 443,000 t, vegetable oil – up 18.9% to 129,000 t.
In August, Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk handled 131 vessels and 15,735 wagons.
SE Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk is a multipurpose international port, one of the largest ports in the Black Sea. The company operates specialized terminals and complexes capable of handling a wide range of cargoes – liquid bulk cargo, dry bulk cargo, general cargo. The port’s 29 berths can accommodate vessels of up to 100,000 tonnes in deadweight. Designed annual capacity of SCPI exceeds 30 mln tonnes.
The port’s container capacity is 1.15 mln TEUs. From 2007 the port can simultaneously handle 3 ocean-going 300-m long container carriers of over 5,000 TEUs in capacity.
