Multi-functional ships are the future of port fleet, says Marine Engineering Bureau

The trends of shipbuilding show that the multi-purpose platforms allowing for construction of multi-functional ships are the future of the port fleet, Gennady Yegorov, Director General of Marine Engineering Bureau has said today, September 21, at the International Conference “Advanced port fleet - the basis of safety” organized by media-group PortNews.
According to him, tugboats, supply ships, bunkering tankers and other vessels of port fleet should combine their key function with the ability to perform different tasks like oil spill response activities, rescue operations etc.
