Today the Black Sea Fleet guard ship Smetlivy, which is performing tasks within the permanent grouping of forces in the Mediterranean, visited the Greek port of Patra.
According to the press center of RF Defence Ministry, the visit started with the ceremony of handing over the hallows of St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle to the Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet on personnel management and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The hallows will be delivered to the Sevastopol garrison cathedral of Michael the Archangel for admiration.
Today the guard ship Smetlivy will leave the port of Patra and will head to the Island of Kerkyra to participate in the traditional “Russian week on the Ionian Islands”.
