Equipment supply contracts signed by Nevsky Shipyard for construction of multipurpose salvage vessels of project MPSV12 (photo)

In the framework of NEVA-2015, the International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences of Russia (September 22-25, 2015), Nevsky Shipyard signed a number of contracts for supply of equipment for multipurpose salvage vessels of project MPSV12, Peotr Vasilyev, deputy head of the shipyard’s procurement department told IAA PortNews.

“Under the contracts, anchor/mooring gear and hauling machines will be supplied by Adria Winch. Deno Compressors will supply compressors, Fire Fighting System – special extinguishing systems. Four sets of equipment will be supplied in 2015-2016 in compliance with vessels construction schedule”, Peotr Vasilyev said.
  
Two multipurpose salvage vessels of project MPSV12 were laid down at Nevsky Shipyard on June 2, 2015.

4 vessels are being built for the Direction of State Contractor of Marine Transport Development Program. The project has been developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC. 

Class notation: КМ Arc5 [1] AUT2 FF2WS DYNPOS-2 SalvageShip. 

Major characteristics: LOA – some 79.85 m, width overall - 17.36 m, depth 6.70 m, draught at DWL - 3.20 m, maximum draught - 4.50 m, deadweight with maximum draught – about 1,820 t, maximum capacity of main engine -  2Х2,600 KW, speed – 14 knots. 

The vessel is intended for stand by, rescue operation in areas of ship-ping, fishing, sea oil and gas fields according to the ship class; providing sea towing of vessels, floating objects and constructions in ice conditions and at open water, towing service of damaged vessels and objects to shelter area; search of and assistance to vessel is in distress; search, rescue, evacuation and placing of people, providing first aid to injured persons; providing assistance at fire fighting at floating and coastal objects accessible from sea; fire fighting of burning fuel on water, oil spills response service emergency oil and oil product spill; ransportation of passengers, general and liquid bulk cargo. 

Shlisselburg, St. Petersburg based Nevsky Shipyard LLC, is a subsidiary of North-Western Shipping Company (part of UCL Holding). Nevsky Shipyard is one of the oldest enterprises of water transport in Russia’s the North-West. The company has been engaged in shipbuilding since 1952. The company builds mixed sea-river class vessels of various types and purposes and provides ranged repair services. Nevsky Shipyard’s slipway allows launching and lifting for repair 140-m-long vessels with dock weight of up to 3,000 tonnes.
