In the first 9 months of 2015 Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg (CTSP) spent 492,4 million rubles on implementation of the terminal development program – 3,3 times more than in the same period last year, the Company says.
The major part of this amount – 395,7 million rubles – was spent on improvement of the port infrastructure, including completion of upgrading of engineering and operation facilities. 95 million rubles were spent on renewal of the cargo handling fleet and the terminal equipment.
Besides, 1,7 million rubles were invested into improving the terminal IT infrastructure and expanding video surveillance system aimed to ensure better client service.
IT system improvements include the following new options: control of the customs processing status, filing requests for cargo inspection via web interface, inspection of import containers by state authorities immediately after discharge from vessel.
Due to deliberate investments into company development the terminal capacity increased to 750k TEU.
Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (member of UCL Port, stevedoring division of international transportation group UCL Holding) is a modern container handling facility in the Fourth District of the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. In 2014 the terminal handled 387,6 thousand TEU.
