In the framework of equipment modernization programme OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” has bought two Nissan and two Kalmar fork-lift trucks for handling of general cargoes on the First and the Second port cargo areas, the port’s press center says.
Nissan forklifts of 2.5 tons hoisting capacity are of small size and equipped with exhaust neutralizer which allows them to be used in holds, containers and railcars. The Kalmar forklifts of 33 tons hoisting capacity are to be used for handling of ferrous metals including but not limited to steel slabs and rolled steel.
The new equipment will allow the company to intensify cargo handling operations and optimize costs for equipment maintenance. New forklifts will be put into operation after running-in procedures and completion of paperwork.
