New residents of Free Port of Vladivostok to invest RUB 28 bln

Investments of eight companies – residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok – will total RUB 28 bln, said Vasily Usoltsev, First Deputy Governor of the Primorsky Territory, following the second meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Free Port of Vladivostok.

According to the press center of the regional authorities, the meeting chaired by Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, who heads the Supervisory Board, was held in the format of videoconference on December 22, 2015.

Vasily Usoltsev said the list of new residents includes seven Primorye based companies and one Moscow company. According to him, 13,500 jobs will be generated under the projects. The projects represent both small and large businesses.

The status of Free Port residents was granted to sports and tourism complex Primorsky Ring (PrimRing), private industrial park Aviapolis Yankovsky, fish refrigerating and storage facility Vladmorrybport, logistic center Kaskad, transport and logistics hub of UNION class Dyuk Avesta, project on production of energy-efficient LED equipment of TERRA company, Mentor’s project on production of agricultural plants and ERZO’s innovative recycling of tires.

The first resident of Free Port of Vladivostok – Pacific Investment Company – is set to build a five-star hotel and a residential complex in Slavyanka. Investments are estimated at some RUB 5 bln.

The Supervisory Board is the governing board of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The document on establishment of the Supervisory Board of the Free Port of Vladivostok was approved by RF Government’s Decree on September 4, 2015.  According to the Decree, the Supervisory Board is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District. 

The Federal Law on the Free Port of Vladivostok came into effect on October 12, 2015. The Free Port includes 15 municipal territories of Primorye: Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Artyem, Nakhodka, Bolshoi Kamen, Partizansk, Spassk-Dalny, Pogranichny, Nadezhdinsky, Shkotovsky, Khasansky, Khankaisky,Partizansky, Olginsky and Oktyabrsky districts as well as their water areas.
