Kleven contracted to build fishing vessel for French customer

Kleven has signed a contract with the French fishery company Compagnie Des Peches Saint-Malo S.A. & SAS Comptoir Des Peches D’Europe Du Nord – Euronor, on the building of an 80 m long stern trawler, the Corporation said.

The vessel is to be delivered from Myklebust Verft in September 2017, and is of NVC 374 WP design from Rolls-Royce. Two vessels of the same design was ordered by DFFU in June this year.

“We look forward to working with the customer on the building of this state of the art trawler, where safety, low emissions and operational efficiency have been centre of attention in the process leading up to the contract,” said Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven.

“Since June, we have signed five new build contracts for Myklebust Verft. Rolls-Royce is a key partner in many of the projects, and we highly appreciate the co-operation that has developed between our companies,” Mr Rasmussen said.

The stern trawler will be ICE 1A* classed, and will also include a large equipment package from Rolls-Royce.

Kleven now have 17 vessel in the orderbook, at a total value of close to NOK 11 bn.
