Allocations of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg for implementation of environmental programme totaled RUB 25.1 mln in 2015

In 2015 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 25.1 mln Rubles for the implementation of the environmental programme. 

Funds were transferred for protection of water area of the Gulf of Finland, air protection, provision of safe handling of wastes and continuous work of environmental facilities of SP SPb.

Within the year the company monitored use of coastal and water protection areas, quality of natural waters, performed works on maintenance of  treatment facilities. In order to meet sanitary requirements and legislative requirements the company continuously treated waste waters.

Within the reporting period the company performed analysis of air samples taken in the end of sanitary protection area. The researchers confirmed that air quality meets air quality targets. 

Besides, SP SPb secured timely removal and disposal of wastes following legislative requirements for handling wastes.

OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg.  It operates by modern multipurpose specialized terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes and specialized terminals for ro-ro cargoes. In 2015 the turnover of the company amounted to 7.9 mln tons.
