State Duma passes law on enhancing efficiency of state regulation in water transport sector

On February 24, State Duma of the Russian Federation passed in the second reading the draft law aimed at enhancing the efficiency of state regulation in the field of water transport sector, says press center of State Duma.

Draft law “On Introduction of Amendments into Article 77 of the Inland Water Transport Code of the Russian Federation” had been submitted by the Ministry of Transport.

Draft law expands Article 77 of IWTC with provisions according to which the decision on ship traffic ban is made by inland water way basin authority in the form of instructions while the decision on the terms is made by Federal Marine and River Transport Agency within three days after basin authority’s notification is received.
