On Thursday, February 25, for the second year in row ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT) received the award in category “Best Employer in Kurzeme Region”, which was presented by the online recruitment company “CV-Online Latvia”. VNT says it was recognised as the most desirable employer in Kurzeme.
“We are honoured to receive this award repeatedly. Employees are the biggest value of our company, so we take care of their wellbeing every day. We do that by providing social guarantees, ensuring growth opportunities and improving the work environment. This award attests to the results of the work contributed by us and is an incentive to implement new measures to improve the work environment in the future too,” says VNT’s HR specialist Jana Piļugina.
Keeping the company’s employees in mind, several measures were regularly taken to improve the work environment, for example, purchase of special industrial bicycles for convenient movement in the company’s territory of 100 hectares, ergonomic desks for office employees, as well as creating seats outdoors for having lunch and hold meetings in fresh air. A health station was created last year where employees can use a massage chair, blood pressure monitor and other equipment for determining and improving state of health. Training is regularly organised in line with the profession of employees, as well as in-depth training in performing first aid, experience exchange trips and team-building events. Employees visit international exhibitions with a view to introduce innovative and convenient solutions at VNT to ensure individual protection measures and improve the work environment. VNT also invests into development of the Ventspils town where families of VNT employees live. Last year, a number of important events were supported at the town, for example, equipment was purchased for the Ziemeļkurzeme regional hospital, and schools attended by children of our employees were supported in various ways. VNT also provided internship for 18 students from schools of different countries.
The poll “TOP Employer of 2015” was carried out by the online recruitment company “CV-Online” in the period of time from December 28, 2015 until January 27, 2016, and 4088 respondents participated in it.
