Donrechflot opens transit navigation from February 29

Shipping company Donrechflot (DRF, part of Azov-Don Shipping Company) opened its river navigation of 2016 on February 29, one month ahead of official schedule. According to the company, the first vessel was M/V M. Andreyev which left for port Azov where it will be loaded with grain for further transportation to port Kavkaz.

Three more vessels – the Volgo-Don 219, the Volgo-Don 5043 and the V. Uspensky – will start operation in the nearest time.

In navigation 2016 Donrechflot is to put into operation 10 integrated tug/barge units and 10 self-propelled ships of inland navigation.

“Early start of the navigation period was driven by a large scale grain campaign and mild winter”, explained Oleg Sidorkin, Executive Director of Donrechflot.

29 units of inland navigation were repaired during the inter-navigation period.
