Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, operator of the Gazprom Neft bunkering business, says it has completed its first fuel shipment under contract to Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO), with the Gazpromneft Zuid tanker delivering 320 tonnes of heavy fuel oil (mazut) and 650 tonnes of diesel fuel to the Minerva Atlantica tanker at the port of Primorsk.

The contract with STASCO (which provides for the delivery of bunkering fuel at Primorsk, with the possibility of this being extended to include further locations) was concluded during this year’s International Petroleum Week — the annual oil and gas congress in London. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker CEO Andrei Vasiliev commented: “Collaborating with the trading and transportation division of one of the most important energy corporations in the world marks an important stage in our company’s development. The priority for us is the high-quality fuel and bunkering services we are able to provide to our commercial partners and this, ultimately, was the deciding factor in our receiving approval to work with Shell.”

Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO) is part of Shell Trading & Supply, a global company comprising the extensive Shell trading network as well as transportation companies, logistics and retailing infrastructure, and the company’s commercial fuel-sales business. Shell’s global trading activities ensure consumers are provided with a diverse range of products ranging from natural gas, power, and crude oil to refined oil products, raw materials for petrochemicals production, and environmentally friendly products.

Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, was established in 2007 to provide year-round supplies of marine fuel and oils for sea and river vessels. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker currently has eight regional offices and six subsidiary companies. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker operates in main sea ports of Russia (Nakhodka, Vladivostok, Vostochny, Posyet, Zarubino, Kozmino, Sakhalin, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Kavkaz port, Taman, Sochi, St Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Primorsk, Kaliningrad, Baltiysk, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk) as well as river ports (St Petersburg, Azov, Yaroslavl, Sheksna, Nizhny Novgorod, Cherepovets, Kazan, Samara, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Olya port, Rostov-on-Don, Ust-Kut, Nizhnekamsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk) and international ports including Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), and Constanta (Romania).
