Houston, Texas based Power Barge Corporation, the leading power barge services company, signed a power barge design / build cooperation agreement with Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractors A/S (BWSC) of Denmark, a subsidiary of Mitsui, Dave Nickerson, President of Power Barge Corporation said.
Vard Marine U.S. also based in Houston (a subsidiary of Fincantieri) will provide design support services based on their experience in designing medium speed engine power barges.
This agreement focuses their joint effort in the design, production and marketing of medium speed engine power barges. This new modular power barge class program will offer power barges ranging in output from 60 MW to 180 MW based on a single design. Higher outputs and various combined cycle/SCR modes will also be available on a client request basis. In addition BWSC will offer long term maintenance as well as O&M contracts.
