Severnaya Verf shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) says it is going to launch the Vsevolod Bobrov, combat logistics ship of Project 23120, in July 2016.
The series design was developed by St. Petersburg based naval architecture and marine engineering firm CJSC SpetsSudoProekt. The vessels are designed for loading, storage, transport and delivery of dry cargo ashore and onto other ships, as well as to provide towing, rescue of crews and salvage of stricken ships. With its ARC4 ice class, the Vsevolod Bobrov ship can sail in Arctic waters.
The Elbrus, a lead ship of Project 23120 is undergoing outfitting and mooring tests.
Key characteristics: LOA – about 95 m; BOA – about 22 m; draught – about 9 m; full displacement – about 10,000 t; cruising range – about 5,000 miles; endurance – about 60 days; crew - 27 persons. When involved in rescue operations the ship can accommodate up to 43 persons including crewmembers.
