Throughput of Russian seaports may climb by 2% to some 690 mln t this year
Throughput of Russian seaports may total 687-690 mln t in January-December 2016, which is 1.5-2% more against the year of 2015, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Olersky, Deputy Transport Minister of Russia, as saying at the meeting of RF Government’s Marine Board Presidium held in Astrakhan on March 18, 2016.
“Container throughput will either stabilize or decline while transshipment of other cargoes will increase”, he said.
In 2015 Russian seaports handled 676.7 mln t of cargo, + 5.7%, year-on-year.
