Kronshtadt Shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) says it has completed repairing diesel-electric submarine Vyborg.
The shipyard has repaired the hull, some units and equipment. Special hull coating has been renovated.
Kronshtadt Shipyard earlier repaired the Vyborg submarine: in 1993 - 2003 (excluding 1998-2000) and in 2011 - 2014.
The Vyborg is a Kilo-class Project 877 submarine designed by Rubin bureau (Saint-Petersburg) for anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations, deployment of mines, reconnaissance. Submarines of Project 877 (Varshavyanka-class) are among the most silent ones in the world.
Kronshtadt Shipyard (corporate member of United Shipbuilding Corporation) is the largest ship repairing yard in the North-West Region of Russia. Established in 1858. Able to repair and service ships of different types and classes of up to 60,000 t in displacement.
