RF Transport Ministry estimates Russia’s loss of port dues in 2015 at RUB 8 bln amid ruble devaluation

In 2015, Russia lost RUB 8 bln of port dues charged in national currency amid rouble rates decrease, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Deputy Transport Minister Victor Olersky as saying at the final meeting of Rosmorrechflot’s Board in Moscow.

According to Serik Zhusupov, Executive Director of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports, the proposed transfer of payments for stevedoring services into roubles is not reasonable either. It would be a step backward as it would entail inconvenience on contractors.
