In January-February 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 2,017,200 t of cargo (-8%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo surged by 61% to 169,700 t including 101,200 t of coal (+59%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo fell by 27% to 545,200 t, general cargo – up 24% to 297,100 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 26.7% to 157,100 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 339,600 t (+12%), liquid bulk cargo – 504,400 t (-28%) including 270,800 t of oil products (-32%), 143,300 t of crude oil (+9%) and 86,100 t of food cargo (-32%).
