In January-March 2016, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 5,268,900 t of cargo (-16.3%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, container throughput dropped by 8.5% to 49,040 TEUs, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo increased by 2.4% to 1.06 mln t.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo totaled 732,900 t (+7.5%), non-marine cargo - 1,800 t (-8.3%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 2.89 mln t (-27.5%).
In January-March 2016, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by a total of 432 cargo vessels and 1,190 passenger vessels.
Passenger traffic of Tallinna Sadam ports in January-March 2016 climbed by 8.7% to 1.91 mln passengers.
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tonnes.
