Zelenodolsk Plant to launch Gepard - 3.9 frigate built for Vietnam on April 27, 2016

OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky will launch the Gepard - 3.9 frigate dezigned by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau for Vietnam on April 27, the shipyard says.

The contract for construction of the first two frigates of Project  Gepard - 3.9 for Vietnam was signed in 2006. The flag hoisting ceremony onboard the first ship named Dinh Tien Hoang was held in March 2011, onboard the second ship  named Lee Thay To – in August 2011.

Intergovernmental contract for construction of the second pair of Gepard - 3.9 frigates was signed in October 2012. The ships were laid down in September 2013.

Tatarstan-based OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky specializes in the construction of warships and passenger high-speed vessels. The enterprise is managed by AK BARS HOLDING.
