IMO expects energy efficiency of vessels to grow 30% by 2025

By 2025, energy efficiency of newbuildings will grow by 30% against the year of 2014, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Lee Adamson, Head of Public Information Services at IMO, as saying at the meeting dedicated to the 27th International Maritime Trade Fair SMM-2016. He says this will be driven by introduction of EEDI and SEEMP standards. Compliance of 1,600 new ships has been certified by today.
