Cargo turnover within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWW declined by 1.7% to 1.80 mln t in Jan-May'16
As of June 1, 2016, cargo turnover within the Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s inland water ways amounted to 1,806,000 t (-1.7%, year-on-year), says the Authority of Azov-Don Basin.
Shipping of heavy fuel oil fell by 14.4% to 585,000 t, sulphur – increased by 10.5% to 316,000 t.
The number of vessels sailing along the inland water ways totaled 1,344 (+4.2%, year-on-year).
In May, cargo turnover increased by 1.2% to 1,312,000 t including 1,149,000 t of transit cargo (+2.1%, year-on-year). Internal turnover declined by 3% to 163,000 t.
In the reporting period shipping of heavy fuel oil accounted for 34.9%, sulphur – for 14.5%, diesel fuel – for 13.9%, marine fuel – 8.8%, crushed stone – 6.8%.
In May, the number of vessels sailing along the inland waterways amounted to 912 including 440 downward bound and 472 upward (versus 825 in 2015 including 394 sailing downard and 431 — upward).
The depth in May, from the entrance to the 132-th channel to Konstantinovsky waterworks, was 360- 400 cm, from Kochetovsky waterworks to the 3121-th km stretch of the Don – 340 to 390 cm.
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility FBU The Authority of Azov-Don Basin is 691.3 kilometers.
