This is the 50th edition of the TMS Newsletter and The Maritime Standard would like to thank all its readers for their support in helping reach this significant milestone.
Clive Woodbridge, editor, says, “We are very grateful for the encouragement and positive feedback that our readers have given us. It is our aim to continue to improve the newsletter and we look forward to expanding and enhancing it further over the next 50 issues.”
Since the first edition was published in June 2014, the TMS Newsletter has become one of the most widely read shipping and maritime online publications with a circulation of more than 30,000. While most of the circulation is in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent it is now being read more widely, including subscribers in Norway, Germany, the UK, Greece and Singapore. As a result it is now a means by which to reach both local and international markets.
Since that first edition, The TMS brand has expanded to include both Awards and Conferences. Preparations for the third TMS Awards, being held this October, are now gathering pace and nominations have been flooding in since the opening date on June 1st. Trevor Pereira, managing director, says, “The response has been very encouraging. These Awards truly represent the region, and are now a platform to promote this region to a wider geographical audience. Last year we had international visitors from over 70 countries and we expect at least the same again in 2016.”
There will also be two Conferences this year, with The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference in Dubai on October 25th, followed by the second Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade conference on November 14th in Abu Dhabi. Trevor Pereira adds, “We are grateful for the support we have received from KOTC for the Tanker conference, with Sheikh Talal Al Khaled Al Sabah, the company’s chief executive, lines up as a keynote speaker; and Abu Dhabi Ports as host for the Ship Finance and Trade event. This is going to be a mega event and we are grateful for their support in staging this Conference.”
