Throughput of port Kaliningrad down 3% to 5.22 mln t in 5M’16
In January-May 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 5,229,300 t of cargo (-3%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew by 21% to 517,700 t including 249,700 t of coal (+48%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 15% to 1.917 mln t, transshipment of general cargo was flat at 655,500 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 11.2% to 69,006 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 605,900 t (-18%), liquid bulk cargo – 1.12 mln t (-28%) including 555,700 t of oil product (-38%), 337,200 t of crude oil (-7%) and 214,200 t of food cargo (-22%).
