Experts says, manufacturers of LSFO supplied to ships often fail to confirm specifications stated

Sulphur content level in hybrid fuel, very low-sulfur products, is sometimes very different from those specifications stated by manufacturers, and often exceeds 0.1%, PortNews correspondent reports citing an industry expert.

Client Manager told The 9th Russian Forum “Current State and Prospects for Development of Russian Bunker Services Market” that recent sampling of low-sulphur fuel oil showed that the risk of exceeding the sulphur limit allowable is higher, the greater the level is stated by the fuel manufacturer.

Also, according to the expert, such LS fuel grades, despite the specification stated, may also vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
