Capacities of Klaipėdos nafta’s LNG terminal already booked by Lithuanian Gas Supply and Litgas
Klaipėdos nafta says its LNG terminal has two reliable customers this current Gas year: capacities have been already booked by Lithuanian Gas Supply (Lith. Lietuvos dujų tiekimas), UAB and Litgas, UAB.
After finishing the annual distribution process of the LNG terminal capacities and signing relevant agreements, the capacities of the terminal have been allocated to Lithuanian Gas Supply, UAB and Litgas, UAB, while other potential users of the terminal still have a possibility to book some of the capacities during the course of the current Gas year.
Under certain terms and conditions laid down in relevant contracts, Lithuanian Gas Supply, UAB has a plan aimed at a regasification quantity of 825,100,000 kWh for the period from 1 October to 31 December of this year. As for Litgas, UAB, it has booked the capacities for the period from 1 October of this year to 30 September of 2017, and has plans for a regasification quantity of 3,602,216,638 kWh of natural gas.
“We are glad that by means of an advance booking, the capacities of the LNG terminal have been allocated to two customers before the end of the current Gas year. Other potential users can book capacities for the following Gas year at any time. The rules of the use of the LNG terminal are quite flexible in respect of gas importers, who are able to make use of the LNG terminal efficiently, once they order capacities of the terminal and also arrange timetables for the supply. The same situation occurred in February this year, when Lithuanian Gas Supply, UAB and Achema, AB ordered a significant amount of the LNG terminal capacities when the current Gas year had already been in considerable progress. This amount will ensure nearly all quantities of gas necessary for both companies to be supplied with during the rest of the days of the current Gas year,” said Mantas Bartuška, General Manager of Klaipėdos nafta, AB, in a comment on the situation.
The company will constantly announce and update the information on its website regarding spare capacities of the LNG terminal which would be made available for purchase during the current Gas year running from 1 October of 2016 to 1 October of 2017.
The State owns 72.32 percent of Klaipėdos nafta shares.
