Apart from cargoes intended for port Sabetta PJSC Murmansk Commercial seaport (MMTP) now handles cargoes bound for Dikson and Khatanga, says the port’s press center.

At Berth No 15 the company handled dry cargo ship Sergei Asyamov owned by Khatanga seaport. On her route from Rotterdam the ship made a call to Murmansk to take aboard containers with spare parts for machines and mechanisms, as well as food and bottled water.

The Yermak of Murmansk Shipping Company was loaded with 30 more containers, that will also be delivered to Kharanga.

Port Dikson (Taimyr peninsula) is also becoming a regular destination. The cargo is intended for Arctic Mining Company which has recently embarked on anthracite production. Technological equipment, transport and construction materials for this new project are delivered from Murmansk by sea transport, like dry cargo carrier Pavel Vavilov (Murmansk Shipping Company) which was loaded with 20,000 t of break-stone, containers and service transport.

Murmansk Commercial seaport was founded in 1994. MMTP operates 17 berths of total length of about 3 km. The waters depths allow the port to accommodate vessels with draft of 15.5 m and length of more than 265 m.

In 2015 Murmansk Commercial seaport  transshipped 14.6 mln t of cargo including 13.6 mln t of coal (93.3% of total throughput). Over the year the company handled 291 vessels and 206,207 wagons.
