Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk Branch will provide ice pilotage services to gas tankers on the Northern Sea Route
Rosmorport says its Arkhangelsk Branch signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MOL LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd. (the United Kingdom) company, which is a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd (Japan), for the provision of ice pilotage services to gas tankers in the Northern Sea Route water area to ensure their safe operation from November 2017.
The Arkhangelsk Branch ice pilots will also instruct the MOL LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd. company’s masters in ice navigation practice.
Ice pilotage services in the Northern Sea Route water area are provided by highly skilled ice pilots of the Arkhangelsk Branch, which have certificate of the right to perform ice pilotage in the Northern Sea Route water area, issued in the established order by BSPI "Northern Sea Route Administration".
