Throughput of port Helsinki (Finland) up 1.2% to 6.7 mln t in 7M’16
In January-July 2016, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 6.7 mln t of cargo (+1.2%, year-on-year), the port authority says. In July the port handled 920,000 t of cargo (+1.2%).
According to the statement, the port’s passenger throughput grew by 3.5% to 6.8 mln passengers including more than 1.5 mln passengers carried in July 2016 (+4%, year-on-year).
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2015, the port handled 11.4 mln t of cargo (+5.3%, year-on-year).
