RF Ministry of Industry and Trade responsible for ensuring the loading of Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex and the shipyard’s development plan says Zvezda is supposed to build 170 vessels by 2030. The estimate has been correlated with plans of Rosneft, says the Ministry’s press center.
“Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex will become Russia’s largest shipyard on construction of civil ships. It will actually be a new city with the majority of population involved in shipbuilding industry. This will provide a new focus to the development of domestic shipbuilding – designing and construction of hi-tech vessels and marine equipment for challenging conditions of the Arctic and northern seas,” said Denis Manturov, RF Minister of Industry and Trade. According to him, a big portion of the shipyard’s products will be in the category of “products currently not available in the market”.
