Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 10% to 86.77 mln t in 8M’16

In January-August 2016, seaports of Ukraine handled 85,777,000 t of cargo (-10%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 64,798,000 t (- 2.7%), imports – 10,619,000 t (-11.6%), transit – 7,255,000 t (- 39.3%), inland traffic – 3,105,000 t.

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 402,347 TEUs (+27.8%, year-on-year).

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 27,543,000 t (32% of total volume),. Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 58,234,000 (68% of total volume) including 33,917,000 t handled via USPA berths (40% of total volume).
