On September 7, 2016, JSC Zelenodolsk Plant Named After M. Gorky and the Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation signed a contract for building and delivery of three missile ships of Project 21631. The state contract was signed at the International Military Technical Forum Army - 2016, says he shipyard’s press center.
The small-size missile ships of Project 21631 designed by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau are being constructed at the shipyard since 2010 for the Russian Navy. These are high specification ‘rive-sea’ class ships are armed with state-of-the-art missile and artillery weapons. The corvettes are intended to defend the national economic zones of the Russian Federation.

Four more ships of Project 21631are under construction at the shipyard today – Vyshny Volochek, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Ingushetia and Graivoron.
Five ships of Project 21631 – the lead ship Grad Sviyazhsk, and the serial ships Uglich, Veliky Ustyug, Zeleny Dol and Serpukhov have already joined RF Navy’s Black Sea and Caspian Flotilla fleets.
