In January-October 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 9,697,100 t of cargo (-9%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo declined by 2% to 1,171,300 t including 18,500 t of mineral fertilizers (-63%) and 504,300 t of coal (+47%).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 8% to 3.41 mln t, transshipment of general cargo declined by 7% to 1,215,300 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 9.5% to 157,407 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 1,029,700 (-37%), liquid bulk cargo – 2.02 mln t (-24%) including 908,600 t of oil products (-37%), 644,700 t of crude oil (-6%) and 439,200 t of food cargo (-10%).
