Ice navigation restrictions postponed at Big Port St. Petersburg

Due to slower ice formation in the water area of Big Port St. Petersburg, ice navigation restrictions at Big Port St. Petersburg have been postponed by Order No 43 dated 30 November 2016, says press center of Baltic Sea Ports Administration.

ATB units are not allowed to sail in the water area of Big Port St. Petersburg from 6 December 2016.

The following restriction come into effect at Big Port St. Petersburg and its approaches from 9 December 2016 (when ice thickness reaches 10-15 cm):

- vessels without ice class can sail in ice waters only when assisted by icebreakers;

- vessels with ice class (Ice1 and higher) can sail in ice waters independently when approved or assisted by icebreakers.
