11M’16 throughput of Rosterminalugol up 1.5%, y-o-y, to 16.4 mln t (photo)

In January-November 2016, JSC Rosterminalugol (the lagest coal terminal the North-West region of Russia) handled 16.4 mln t of coal, up 1.5%, year-on-year, says the Company.

From the beginning of the year the company loaded 256 vessels (255 vessels in 2015) with average ship consignment of 67,100 t.
    
Maximum loading per shift (12 hours) was 50,900 t. 
    
In the 11-month period the terminal unloaded 229,706 wagons with 16.4 mln t of coal (against 224,283 wagons with 15.8 mln t of coal handled in 11M’15). 

In November 2016, the terminal loaded 23 vessels (1.5 mln t of coal) and unloaded 22,361 wagons (1.6 mln t of coal). In the same period of 2015 Rosterminalugol unloaded 19,896 wagons (1.4 mln t of coal). 
    
Maximum unloading per shift (12 hours) and per day was 539 and 1,021 wagons accordingly. 

“This result was achieved through joint logistic efforts of Rosterminalugol JSC and Port Management Company LLC”, says the statement.

Rosterminalugol JSC (port Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region) is the largest dedicated coal terminal in the North-West region of Russia. The terminal built with the application of the innovative technologies is intended to supply Russian coal produced in Kuzbass and other coal fields to the customers in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America. The terminal was founded in 1996 under the programme on establishment of a commercial seaport in Ust-Luga. In 2016, Rosterminalugol entered the holding run by Port Management Company LLC. 

In 2015, throughput of Rosterminalugol grew by 13%, year-on-year, to a record high result of 17.5 mln t (62% of coal transshipment in the ports of Russia’s Baltic Basin). In 2016, Managing Port Company LLC launched the project on further modernization of the terminal.

The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, as well as operation of the coal terminal facilities. The coal terminal has two berths with total length of 565.4 meters. The depth at Berths No 1 and No 2 is 14 and 16 accordingly allowing them to accommodate vessels of up to 240 m in length and 32.2 m in breadth.

In 2015, coal exports via the terminal rose 13%, year-on-year, to 17.465 mln t.
