In January-December 2016, Big Port St. Petersburg handled 48.62 mln t of cargo (-6%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of oil products fell by 32% to 6.52 млн mln t, dry bulk cargo – by 12% to 7.60 mln t, general cargo – up 2% to 12.13 mln t, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo – up 16% to 712,800 t, dry loose cargo – up 23% to 227,200 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 1.7% to 1,745,182 TEUs.
In 2015, the port handled 51.51 mln t of cargo, its container throughput was 1.71 mln TEUs.
