Vostochny Port JSC (Russia’s largest coal stevedore, part of the holding run by Port Management Company LLC) says it has started pre-commissioning and adjustment of Phase 3 transshipment equipment. Specialists of Mitsui Miike, manufacturer of the equipment, have already come to the port.

The stackers and reclaimers are to undergo a series of test runs for adjustment. Together with representatives of Mitsui Miike and Khabarovsk Repair and Installation Company (contractor involved in installation of Phase 3 equipment) specialists of Vostochny Port JSC will power each of the six machines (2 stackers and 4 reclaimers) and check the operation of mechanisms.

As of today, there is no power supply network at Phase 3 of the terminal, therefore a 520kVA mobile diesel generator is used for test runs.

In the nearest future Vostochny Port will complete the construction of 35/6 kW substation “Ugolnaya-2” with two 16,000 kVA transformers.

“This substation will ensure main and backup power supply to Phase 3, about 28-30 mln kWh per year, as well as main and backup power supply to Phases 1-2 of the coal terminal”, says Anatoly Lazarev, Managing Director of Vostochny Port JSC.

Vostochny Port JSC (Primorsky Territory) is Russia’s largest publicly available terminal equipped with wagon dumpers, conveyor systems, ship loading equipment and a unique multilevel system of magnetic separation. The terminal exports coal produced by different coal companies of Russia. In 2016 the port handled 23,5 mln t of coal, one fifth of all coal exports via Russian seaports and about  30% of coal transshipment via the ports of Russia’s Far East Basin.

Vostochny Port JSC LLC is implementing an ambitious investment project on construction of the coal terminal’s Phase 3 including the construction of the federal railway infrastructure. New terminal facilities will be put into operation in 2017 allowing for port capacity to reach 39 mln t in 2019. The coal will be delivered from Kuzbass and other coal fields of Russia.

A sole executive body of Vostochny Port JSC is Port Management Company LLC.
