Throughput of port Kaliningrad in Jan-Apr'17 up 4% to 4.26 mln t
In January-April 2017, the port of Kaliningrad handled 4,269,200 t of cargo, up 4%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew 2.1 times to 870,000 t including 187,900 t of coal (-2%). Transshipment of mineral fertilizers fell by 62% to 2,800 t with other cargoes showing an increase.
Transshipment of dry loose cargo dropped by 17% to 1,203,600t, transshipment of general cargo fell by 24% to 394,000 t.
The port’s container throughput grew by 19.8% to 70,130 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 487,900 t (-7%), liquid bulk cargo - 961,100 (+9%) including 503,900 t of oil products (+20%), 224,500 t of crude oil (-17%) and 210,700 t of food (+18%).
In 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11.70 mln t (-8%).
