Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia) launched the boat of Project ST23WI-M named Kapitan Cheremnykh on 9 June 2017, says FSUE Rosmorport.
The boat is intended for operation in the mouths of rivers, in coastal areas of open and internal seas, in straits and port waters within 20 miles from a place of shelter. The boat is equipped with state-of-the-art communications and navigation facilities, complies with the latest environmental and technological standards, features high maneuverability and habitability.
Key characteristics: class notation Ice2 R3-RSN of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, length – 22.08 m, breadth - 6.69 m, draft – about 1.80 m, main engine capacity - 2 х 412 kW, speed – at least 12 knots, cruising range - 500 miles, endurance - 5 days, crew - 2, personnel - 5.
Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Onega Shipyard) was founded in 2002 on the basis of shiprepair facilities of the Belomorsky-Onezhsky Shipping Company, formed in 1944. In 2011, after the enterprise management dismissal the production stopped, and the company went bankrupt. In late 2014 the enterprise was transferred to the state ownership and resumed its shipbuilding / repair activity.
